I have flown with many companies around the world, but no airline has surprised me as much as Alitalia. I was left pleasantly surprised.
Having only flown with them during the pandemic, I cannot evaluate the airline fully, but this is definitely a company that I would recommend.
Apart from a couple of very unhelpful gate staff on my flight from Venice to Rome, this journey couldn’t have been any better.
Throughout the boarding, I was greeted by the cabin crew manager, who couldn’t have been more helpful when I told her about my peanut allergy and she reassured me that they would take care of me.
I’ll admit, I’m normally very sceptical and critical of cabin crew as I am also flight crew, despite this I was truly impressed with the crews professionalism especially considering the current pandemic situation.
The aircraft, a 17 year old Airbus A319-100 appeared exceptionally maintained and cleaned impeccably. Apart from a couple of curtains which in my opinion were extremely dated, the rest of the cabin was well laid out and well decorated.
Throughout the flight, the crew exceeded my high expectations and I can truly say that in the hundreds, well realistically thousands of flights I’ve experienced both as crew and as a passenger, this is by far the most relaxing flight of my life.
There’s not much more to say than I truly can’t wait to fly Alitalia again. I highly recommend this company and if you haven’t already travelled with Alitalia, as soon as this pandemic is finally over, go and explore.
