Malaysian Banana Balls

A quick and easy recipe for a delicious snack. Slightly crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, perfect on its own or accompanied with a hot tea or coffee.

Ingredients:

  • 5 over ripe bananas

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • Cooking oil

Method:

  1. Mash the bananas

  2. Add the salt and sugar

  3. Fold in the flour bit by bit (depending on consistency you may want to lessen or add flour)

  4. Taste the mixture – add sugar to taste if necessary

  5. The consistency should be gooey

Cooking:

  1. Add enough cooking oil for deep frying into a frying pan

  2. You need 2 tablespoons handy – 1 to scoop the mixture, 1 to push and drop it into the pan (ball-shaped). The Malaysian way is to use your fingers to make a ball of mixture at the side of the mixing bowl and drop it into the frying pan.

  3. Fry till golden brown.

  4. Drain using a paper towel.

Enjoy…
